Erythroplakia

Clinical Definition

Red patch of oral mucosa that cannot be characterized clinically or pathologically as any other condition and has a high risk of showing epithelial dysplasia or carcinoma.

Patient-Friendly

A bright red patch in the mouth that is more likely to be precancerous or cancerous.
