The In-Ovation L is DENTSPLY GAC's attempt to solve one of the most frustrating challenges in lingual orthodontics — archwire ligation. In conventional lingual brackets, ligating the wire on the inside of the teeth is technically difficult, time-consuming, and uncomfortable for the patient. The In-Ovation L translates the proven In-Ovation interactive self-ligation clip to a lingual design. The clip opens and closes easily and quickly, making wire engagement literally a "snap" — dramatically reducing chairside time for wire changes compared to conventional lingual brackets.
The interactive self-ligating clip engages the archwire in the lingual bracket slot, holding the wire without ligature ties or elastomeric rings. The clip can be opened and closed quickly with a ligating instrument, allowing rapid wire changes during lingual treatment. Because the bracket is on the lingual surface, tooth movement mechanics are identical to conventional lingual orthodontics — the wire coordinates upper and lower arch forms from the inside. No visible brackets or wires from the labial surface.
Adults seeking fully invisible fixed appliance treatment; comprehensive lingual orthodontic cases; practitioners trained in lingual techniques who want to use self-ligation for efficiency; cases where both esthetics (no visible brackets) and self-ligation efficiency are priorities.
Lingual bracket placement requires specialized training; lingual treatment produces greater initial speech disruption than labial brackets; tongue soreness during adjustment; higher cost than labial brackets; not widely available from all labs or practitioners; custom indirect bonding trays essential for accurate lingual placement.
Indirect bonding trays for lingual brackets are fabricated by specialized labs or the In-Ovation L's distribution partner. Lab fabrication involves precise lingual surface adaptation and tray construction. Not a CFL primary product — lingual specialty lab work.
