The VektorPRO Class II Corrector (TP Orthodontics) uses a NiTi Vector Control Module (VCM) to deliver Class II correction with low, gentle forces. Unlike spring-based Class II correctors that deliver high forces, the VCM applies only 3.5 ounces of force with an intrusive vector — producing rapid yet gentle mandibular advancement. The NiTi construction makes the appliance break-resistant (unlike rigid rod-and-piston Herbst mechanisms). TP Orthodontics claims Class II correction can be achieved in 6 months or less. The design positions the appliance outside the "food zone" for improved patient comfort and hygiene.
The NiTi VCM connects the upper and lower arch connections, delivering a low (3.5 oz) continuous force with an intrusive vector component. The intrusive force vector is designed to avoid excessive lower incisor proclination — a common side effect of high-force Class II correctors. The NiTi module's shape memory ensures constant force delivery throughout the range of motion. The appliance allows full mandibular function (opening, lateral movements) while continuously delivering the Class II corrective force.
Class II malocclusion in growing patients (early and comprehensive treatment); mixed dentition or early adolescent cases where 6 months of Class II correction is the treatment goal; practices wanting a low-force, break-resistant alternative to Herbst or Forsus; adolescent patients where spring fatigue and breakage of other Class II correctors is a concern.
Adult skeletal Class II may require orthognathic surgery rather than functional appliance; low force may be insufficient for severe Class II or non-growing adults; as with all fixed functional appliances, anchorage control and case selection are critical.
VektorPRO components are manufactured by TP Orthodontics and purchased by practices. No lab fabrication required for the VCM. Molar bands may be lab-fabricated if used.
