Overview

The Discovery Pearl is Dentaurum's monolithic ceramic bracket, molded in one piece using Ceramic Injection Molding (CIM) — a process producing a homogeneous, dense ceramic body with no weak seams or interfaces. Made from highly pure aluminum oxide, the bracket adapts naturally to tooth shade with no disruptive light reflection. A patented laser-structured bonding base provides reliable mechanical retention. FDI notation is laser-marked on the base for quick tooth identification. The slim 0.7 mm in-out profile and large rounded tie-wing undercuts accommodate multiple ligature types.

Clinical & technical

Mechanism of action

Conventional twin bracket with elastomeric or SS ligature wire engagement. Standard archwire prescription mechanics. The CIM process produces a dense ceramic with fewer internal voids than pressed polycrystalline alumina, giving the bracket high fracture resistance.

Adult patients requesting esthetic brackets; comprehensive fixed appliance cases; practices working with Dentaurum bracket systems; any case requiring a full ceramic bracket prescription.

Contraindications & limitations

No self-ligation (elastomeric ligatures required); ceramic bracket general limitations apply (brittleness, debonding care); not as transparent as monocrystalline sapphire brackets.
